Just a few days ahead of the COP21 conference, this meeting gathered a hundred of French & Chinese leaders involved in building, designing, and planning greener cities.

This event was organized by Association France Chine, in collaboration with We Belong.

In a 360° turn, the Chinese government has recently decided to change its growth strategy. “Towards the construction of ecological civilization” is the name of the new policy adopted by its institutions in April 2015. At its core, new Chinese environmental protection values are now juxtaposed and even opposed to those of over-consumption. Giving rise to a new global consensus of environmental economics, China now wants to lead the way.

The Danish think-tank accepted Belong’s invitation to share its some of most impactful stories at the forefront of sustainability innovation. Solutions were selected from more than 1,500 projects on six continents.

The Sustainia100 2015 study showed a paradigm shift in eco-innovation increasingly more and more present in China!

Fairphone, the world’s first sustainable smartphone producer was interviewed by We Belong Foundation, on the TV set of the Gallerie des Solutions.

Fairphone’s mission is to “bring a fair smartphone to the market designed and produced with minimal harm to people and planet”.

On the occasion of the release of the Fairphone 2 in France, Tessa Wernink, co-founder and Communication Chief Officer of Fairphone, shared her vision in a high-tech world where the race for power, design and price seem the keywords of competitors. She told us more about its positioning in China, the world’s largest producer and user of smartphones.
